Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia International beauty pageant continues to grow with nomination at The Melbourne Drag Awards
MGMTAI NEWS | MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA Wednesday, December 20, 2018 Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia International’ has been nominated for Best Drag/Queer Event at the inaugural ‘The Melbourne Drag Awards’ in January – two days after its ninth annual pageant will crown its new ‘Miss Gay Australia International 2018’ and ‘Miss Transsexual Australia International 2018’ winners.
According to pageant founder and director, Gayzha Davao, the Melbourne-based pageant has continued to grow and establish itself as the world’s only international drag queen and transgender beauty pageant.
“Since our inaugural launch in 2010, Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia International has crowned 16 beauty queens and presented 172 award titles to contestants from all around Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Venezuela. We would not be an international drag queen and transgender beauty pageant today without the generous support of contestants, partners, the media and the public,” said Ms Davao. “We will continue to present a platform for drag queens and transgender women to express their self-identity, showcase their talents and promote equality for LGBTQIA+ people in the wider community.”
Miss Gay & Miss Transsexual Australia International is up against six other nominees.
